Cheryl McCormick Brown, CMP

It’s one thing to offer clients a formidable background in real estate marketing and sales, but quite another to combine that experience with comprehensive knowledge of complementary industries and deliver a unique blend of valuable benefits to client-partners. Cheryl McCormick Brown has spearheaded marketing and sales initiatives within a variety of affiliated ventures, gaining a perspective—several perspectives—of real estate marketing that give our client-partners a powerful edge.

Most recently, Cheryl was director of sales and marketing for JMC Realty, where she and Steve McAuliffe were responsible for selling 137 condominium homes in a distressed property during one of the most challenging times in real estate history. Cheryl and Steve surpassed all expectations by selling every last home within 12 months – an average of more than 10 homes each month, far exceeding the sales projections set by the property owners.

As director of marketing and business development a few years ago for Robb & Stucky Interiors, Cheryl helped real estate clients make optimal design and merchandising decisions during unprecedented economic downturn, while generating multimillion-dollar revenue streams for her company.

From within the real estate business, she oversaw a $7.5 million annual marketing budget with minimal variances for national homebuilder Ryland Homes conducting weekly analyses to ensure that tactics were aligned with sales and traffic goals, and sound business decisions. She was instrumental in creating new Internet opportunities as that channel evolved, devised innovative pre- and post-sales processes and customer satisfaction analyses, and supervised the telemarketing group to increase efficiencies (50 percent reduction in operating costs) and increase contributions to sales (100 percent in two years).

At WCI Communities, a regional master-planned community builder and developer offering homes from the mid-$100,000s to just under $1 million, Cheryl was responsible for showcasing the world-class amenity-rich lifestyle communities throughout Florida with unrivaled golf, boating, tennis, dining, spa and fitness facilities, resort hotels, parks, nature trails, beach and club amenities. As director of amenities marketing, she developed and implemented sales programs and initiatives—from advertising and media, to conferences, to membership sales and programs—showing off the developer’s most appealing assets. Today, there are more than 150,000 residents in WCI communities enjoying these amenity-rich lifestyles.

Casting her net in another direction, at DuPont Publishing Cheryl launched a national magazine for high-end Realtors and brokers. As vice president of sales and marketing, she directed forecasting, evaluation, strategic planning, market research and competitive analysis. She was top revenue producer for Fine Homes magazine, maintaining 20 percent growth in volume and 30 percent increase in sales in a saturated channel and market.

Results like these attest to a career of uncommon depth and breadth. Together with an MBA from the University of South Florida, Florida Mortgage Broker’s and Associate Real Estate Licenses, leadership in local and national professional and community organizations, such mastery opens the door to business affiliations few marketing professionals can match—and a wealth of resources for McAuliffe & McCormick client-partners.
